Making a magical heart-to-heart connection

This morning on my way to work I was listening to Garth Brooks on the radio. He said every great song creates a straight line that connects two hearts. And “The Dance” is one of his songs that does just that: it speaks to a powerful emotional connection between two people. If nothing else, he hoped people would remember him for his performance of “The Dance.”

Great brands connect with consumers in the same way. When consumers refer to how much they love their brand of car, phone, clothing, they are revealing this straight-line emotional connection.

This magical relationship does not happen easily between two people, much less between a brand and its consumer. The key to success is not simply knowing the consumers, but respecting and understanding what makes them tick and makes their life complete. In short, a brand should bring the consumer closer to an ideal life.
