Army intelligence platoon adopts BHG Bloodhound as mascot

“We never quit” is the rallying cry of the Multifunctional Platoon (MFP) within the U.S. Army 1st Brigade’s Military Intelligence Company (MICO) at Fort Stewart, Georgia. The platoon also call themselves “The Bloodhounds,” so when they asked to use the Bloodhound illustration from our BHG logo as their mascot, we thought it was a perfect fit.

The Bloodhounds comprise about 30 intelligence soldiers, non-commissioned officers and officers whose mission is to collect Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Human Intelligence (HUMINT) on the battlefield to inform the Brigade Commander’s decisions. The BHG Bloodhound is now featured on tee-shirts and other platoon gear, as well as in the group’s monthly training newsletter.

Many of the platoon’s soldiers are linguists proficient in a variety of strategic languages, including Farsi, Arabic and Russian. They are capable of intercepting enemy transmissions or interrogating detainees and enemy prisoners of war (EPWs), depending on their area of specialty. The Bloodhounds comprise almost half, and certainly the best, of Fort Stewart’s SIGINT and HUMINT collectors.

“We greatly value what the Ft. Stewart Bloodhounds and their fellow soldiers do for our country and are honored to adopt, follow and support this team as one way of giving back to our community,” says Jim Cobb, founder and Chief Brand Strategist for The Bloodhound Group.
